The Rugby World Cup

The Rugby World Cup is Rugby union's premier competition. The event is organized by the International Rugby Board (IRB),which is the sport's governing body, and is contested by the men's national teams from over 90 countries around the world. The inaugural tournament was held in 1987, hosted by both Australia and New Zealand, and has been contested every four years since then.
